Laura Gilmore

I remember when we were little and we lived in the courts, and it was so hot in the summer and you cried all night long one night because you were hot, and when we got our picture taken and you were scared of the photographer, it took Mom all her strength to keep you still for a picture, and when we both had pink eye and got sent home from Jenny Lind and we walked home together, and when we built the village, that was so cool!!!, and when you cut your lip when you were sledding down the hill in the courts, and when you sang at the talent show when you were in kindegarten, and when we use to go swimming at Camden pool, and when we use to go Moore lake with Jeff and Merry and Beckie. We had so much fun when we were kids. I remember how you use to like going cruising in Mom's car and we would go get baskin and robbins. I remember how much you liked the beatles. I remember how popular you were in school. I still wish I could have known what you would become. I wonder every year on your birthday and the anniversary of your death and thoughout the year.

I also met Joey as a young child and have some very good memories of him.  I remember him coming over to our house when we moved to Brooklyn Park to help my Mom with (Guy) things around the house.  My sister's and I always loved when the "Gilmore's" came over.  My last memory of Joey is in the Summer of 1975. I was 12 year old.  I was at Elm Creek park reserve, swimming with a friend and Joe and one of his friends ran up to me and picked me up by my hands and feet and swung me into the water.  Then he said see ya Lori and ran off after they're next victim, I thought I was pretty cool.  He was the kind of person everybody just wanted to be around.  We all miss you Joe and will love you always!

I met Joey when I was about 5 years old. Our Mothers were, and still are good friends. We lived in the Mississippi Courts. On the first day of kindergarten, I was scared and crying when my Mom left the classroom, and Joey made me feel better. He sat and played with me. He was such a thoughtful person, even at that young age. I always wanted a brother, and I used to wish he was mine. One of the funniest memories I have of Joey is when we were in sixth grade, he had moved to Champlin and we lived in Brooklyn Park. He came over to my house to go trick or treating with me and Judy Morris. I think he came to our neighborhood because he didn't want anyone to recognize him, because he was dressed up as a girl. He was wearing make up and a wig, and one of his mother's old dresses! It was hillarious! He was always so sweet to me, he was just one of those special people you meet in life. I think about him often, and will always miss him

Joe loved music, I posted a few of his favorites songs right before he died, and some inspirational music in honor of his memory, in the audio video section.
